This iced strawberry matcha latte is the perfect blend of sweet floral strawberry flavors with grassy earthy notes from the matcha. The strawberries and the matcha are packed with antioxidants and this latte will give you an even boost of energy throughout the day without the caffeine spike and jitters from coffee. This is the perfect morning drink to start the day or a perfect afternoon pick me to get you through the day.

I’ve been a coffee drinker all of my life until I discovered the benefits of matcha and I knew I had to switch. Matcha is a green tea which uses the entire leaf by finely grounding it using stone ground machines. By using the entire tea leaf it retains all of it’s health and healing properties such as fighting inflammation, boosting brain function, aiding metabolism, supporting heart health, detoxifying the body, and providing energy. I especially like matcha for the consistent energy rather than spikes and jitters.

I’m always finding ways to change my matcha so when the strawberry matcha became extremely popular I knew I had to try it. I went to coffee/tea shops and they did not disappoint. The drinks were refreshing and delicious but it was expensive and too sugary to have on a daily basis. When I was developing this recipe, I wanted it to be sweet to enhance the strawberries but I did not want to lose the earthy flavor from that matcha. I first muddled the strawberries in the glass with sugar but I didn’t like the chunky texture when sipping it through the straw and having to chew it. I don’t know about you but I don’t like chewing my drink unless it’s boba. I decided to blend it and the outcome turned out exactly what I was looking for. It was still chunky with the strawberry fibers but it ran through the straw perfectly without having to chew it. Blending it made it creamy yet it had the strawberry fibers to remind me they’re fresh strawberries.

Ingredients
- Strawberries: I use fresh is best but frozen works as well
- Matcha: I use ceremonial grade for the best quality but use any matcha you like
- Milk: I use almond milk but any plant based milk (almond, oat, soy, hazelnut, pistachio, macadamia) or dairy works just as great
- Sweetener: I use agave for this recipe but honey, sugar, maple or any other sweetners taste as sweet

Equipment
- 1 blender
- 1 matcha bowl
- 1 matcha whisk
- 1 teasoon
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup strawberries fresh or frozen
- 1 cup almond milk use plant based or dairy
- 1 tbs agave substitute for sweenter of choice ie honey, sugar, maple syrup
- 2 tsp matcha powder
- 1/4 cup hot water
Instructions
- Cut off the green leaves of the strawberries and discard. Rough chop the strawberries and add to the blender.
- Add the milk to the blender and blend until well combine, approximately 8-10 seconds or until desired consistency
- Place your sifter over the matcha bowl or a small bowl. Add your match powder on to the sifter then use your teaspoon to press the powder through to prevent clumps.
- Remove the sifter and add 1/4 cup of hot water(165 degrees is the ideal temperature)
- Using a bamboo whisk, use an "M" or "W" motion to whisk until frothy. If you do not have a bamboo whisk, use a small whisk or an electric milk frother to blend.
- Once the matcha is frothy, add your sweetener and stir
- In a glass, add 1 cup of ice then add the milk and matcha. Stir with a straw or a spoon to blend. Enjoy
